Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a safe, non-invasive method widely accepted for improving quality of life in recovering, palliative, and geriatric pets. It complements conventional treatments, promoting healing and overall well-being for a more balanced recovery journey.

Acupunture Therapy

Pet acupuncture therapy is an alternative medicine rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, involving the insertion of fine needles into specific points (acupoints) on a pet's body. This practice aims to stimulate energy flow, or Qi, and restore balance within the body's systems.

A trained veterinary acupuncturist inserts sterile needles into targeted acupoints, often related to areas of pain or dysfunction.

This stimulation can release endorphins and neurotransmitters, leading to pain relief, relaxation, and improved circulation. Acupuncture is commonly used alongside conventional treatments for various conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, neurological issues, gastrointestinal problems, and behavioral challenges.

Pet acupuncture is generally well-tolerated and safe for pets of all ages and breeds. Each session is customized to address the pet's specific health concerns. While it may not provide immediate relief, many owners notice improvements in their pets' mobility and overall well-being with regular treatments. By addressing underlying imbalances, acupuncture supports natural healing and promotes optimal health in pets.

Chinese Herbal Surgery

Pet Chinese Herbal Therapy (CHT) is a proven method for enhancing pet healthcare, rooted in the principles of TCM. It's approach utilizes specially crafted herbal remedies derived from natural herbs and botanicals to tackle a variety of health concerns in pets. The goal of CHT is to restore balance and harmony within the body's systems, focusing on both the symptoms of illness and the underlying root causes.

In TCM, health is viewed as a state of balance between the opposing forces of Yin and Yang, as well as the flow of Qi, or life energy, through the body's meridians. When imbalances occur, it can lead to various health problems and disease.

CHT seeks to rebalance these forces and promote the body's innate healing abilities. Pet CHT is often used as a complementary treatment alongside conventional veterinary care to manage chronic conditions, support the immune system, and improve overall health and well-being. Herbal formulas are carefully selected and customized to meet the individual needs of each pet, taking into account factors such as their specific health concerns, constitution, and response to treatment.

Chinese herbal remedies may come in various forms, including powders, pills, tinctures, or decoctions, and are typically administered orally. These herbal formulas may contain a combination of ingredients, each chosen for its unique properties and therapeutic effects. Common herbs used in pet Chinese herbal therapy include ginseng, astragalus, licorice root, and ginger, among others.

While CHT may not provide instant relief, many pet owners report seeing noticeable improvements in their pet's health and vitality over time with regular use. By supporting the body's natural healing processes and addressing imbalances at the root level, CHT offers a gentle yet effective approach to promoting optimal health and well-being in pets.
